The Lunch Bell Ltd. is a Calgary-based company committed to providing parents with an alternative to the usual brown bag lunch for their elementary children.  The company is fully owned and operated by two women who understand the “brown bag dilemma” all too well.  Having packed our own children’s lunches for years and speaking with other parents, we felt there was a real need in our community for this type of service. 

Research has shown that the food choices children make directly influence learning and health.  Nutrition plays an instrumental role in optimal health, growth and intellectual development.  “Lunch Bell” lunches consisting of a hot entrée, fruit/vegetable, dessert and pure fruit juice/bottled water are delivered directly to the school.  Meals, which meet the nutritional requirements set out by Canada’s Food Guide, are prepared by a professional caterer in an approved facility and transported and served according to the guidelines set out by Alberta Health Services. 

We have been in operation since March, 2004 and are currently serving lunches at Battalion Park Elementary School, Calgary Girls’ School, Calgary Science School, River Valley School, Sunalta Elementary School, Ecole Holy Name, Jennie Elliot Elementary School and Lycee Louis Pasteur.
